Leicester City vs Plymouth Argyle – preview
By: Jim | February 8th, 2008To be perfectly honest, it’ll be a relief to have got it over with. The aftermath of Olliegate rumbles on, with Argyle fans unwilling and unable to move on. This, at least, is not a surprise: ask George Reilly, scorer of the goal that beat Argyle in the 84 Cup Final, how long Pilgrim memories are. He had his ear bitten off by an Argyle fan 19 years after the affront of ending our dreams.
I’m not going (I shall instead be playing a pantomime dame in one of my village halls). I’ll be interested to learn from those who watch it on Murdochvision exactly how much coverage the Green Army get. I’ll be even more interested in the result – you’re just as bored of my pointing out we haven’t won in the League since Boxing Day as I am of mentioning it. No Folly – he’s gone for unspecified blood tests; Sandor is not yet fit. But Wotton is rumoured to be close to making the bench for the first time since his injury against Hull in December 06 and Paterson is in line for his debut after being suspended for the Hull game. Leicester are missing only Hammond (injured) and Stearman (suspended – pity). So imagine an Argyle team that looks a little like this:
McCormick
Connolly
Seip
Timar
Paterson
Clark
Nalis
Abdou
Halmosi
MacLean
Easter
Subs:
Fallon
Mackie
Wotton
Summerfield
Hodges
